Above the Fold

What is Above the Fold?

Above the fold originally meant the top of a newspaper; on the web it is the viewport on first paint—where value proposition and primary CTA should be clear.

Example: On mobile, a strong headline, supporting line, and primary button fit without scrolling; secondary details move below.

Why Above the Fold matters

Above-the-fold content matters because most visitors never scroll on first visit; if value and the primary action are buried, you lose qualified traffic you already paid or earned to acquire.

How Above the Fold works in digital marketing

Test on common device heights, defer heavy images, and avoid hiding critical actions in carousels users never swipe.
