Schema Markup

What is Schema Markup?

Schema markup uses schema.org types (Article, Product, FAQ, LocalBusiness, etc.) so search engines can parse entities, attributes, and relationships beyond plain HTML text.

Example: Adding Product + Offer schema can enable rich results with price and availability, while FAQ schema can surface expandable questions—only when content is visible and accurate on the page.

Why Schema Markup matters

Schema matters because structured data clarifies entities and can unlock rich results—when content is honest and visible to users, not just machines.

How Schema Markup works in digital marketing

Implement valid JSON-LD for templates that qualify for rich results, test in Rich Results Test, and avoid marking up content users cannot see or that misrepresents the page.
