Click-Through Rate (CTR)

What is Click-Through Rate (CTR)?

CTR is the percentage of impressions that result in a click. It applies to ads, organic listings, and emails—showing appeal of the title/snippet or subject line.

Example: Your result showed 10,000 times and earned 400 clicks—CTR is 4%.

Why Click-Through Rate (CTR) matters

CTR matters because visibility without clicks is unrealized demand; improving titles and snippets can lift traffic without ranking changes, and low CTR can hint at intent mismatch or weak positioning.

How Click-Through Rate (CTR) works in digital marketing

Improve titles, meta descriptions, and rich results for organic; test ad copy and extensions for paid; segment by query and device.
